Welcome
I’m a storyteller and a writer—a logical, perfect match? Not exactly! A storyteller creates images with voice, face, and gestures, but a writer conveys imagery with words alone. After performing as a storyteller for many years, I wanted to write the story of bringing my 103 year-old grandmother home to live and die with my family. That desire sent me on a sixteen-year adventure that included a stint in graduate school to earn an MFA in writing. I had to learn to use language in a way that would illuminate a complex story, yet still tell a simple truth. I thought I was done with storytelling when I officially became a “writer,” but storytelling wasn’t done with me. Now I weave the two into my life, including teaching both arts, recording a CD of inspirational Jewish stories, and finally having Bringing Bubbe Home, A Memoir of Letting Go, published by White Cloud Press. So maybe it is a logical fit! Please find out more about what I have to offer as a writer and a storyteller on this website.
